Ten Commandment Commissions Applauds Judiciary Committee Recommendation of Judge Roberts to Supreme Court

September 23, 2005 (Boca Raton FL)--- On Thursday, the Senate Judiciary Committee voted to confirm John Roberts to be Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court. Ron Wexler, President/CEO of the Ten Commandments Commission applauds this decision.

“I applaud the members of the Judiciary Committee with their 13-5 vote to support the nomination of Judge John Roberts as the new Chief Justice of the Supreme Court,” says Wexler. “Judge Roberts exhibited the kind of leadership, honesty, and knowledge that President Bush promised.”

Roberts received the support of all ten Republicans on the committee and the votes of three Democrats—Patrick Leahy of Vermont, and Herb Kohl and Russ Feingold of Wisconsin.

The full Senate vote is expected to take place on Monday.

The Ten Commandments Commission consists of thousands of people of faith who are interested in defending and restoring traditional Judeo-Christian moral standard in society.
