Proclamation of the Ten Commandments Commission:
We, the supporters of the Ten Commandments Commission, proclaim The Ten Commandments Weekend on the first Weekend in the month of May, commencing on the Friday, May 2nd, 2008. This celebration shall strengthen our resolve to keep the Word of God at the forefront of America’s conscious.
We, the supporters of the commission, serve as a cohesive group of citizens of diverse background and faith who represent millions of citizens who affirm the beauty and the uniqueness of our differences. We believe that rooted in the Ten Commandments is a Divine plan that transcends color and diversity in cultural expression, sanctions brotherhood of man, and respects expressions in all of God's children.
We, the supporters of the commission, serve as a council of leaders committed to utilizing our united passion to provide purpose and direction for reversing the enormous tide of immorality continuing to permeate throughout the United States of America, and on all continents of the world. Our unified voice will culminate annually on the Ten Commandments Weekend while providing for a united and global platform based on the Ten Commandments. This platform will respond to the call echoed throughout creation for a true expression love, harmony and reconciliation among all nations, ethnic diversities and genders through education and rededication to the moral standard as given by our Loving Creator.
Furthermore, we the supporters of the commission, proclaim the Ten Commandments Weekend to be a time dedicated for the display, awareness, commemoration, celebration and public education of the Decalogue which we know to be the divine foundation of the Judeo-Christian faith. It also serves as the basis of Western Civilization and bedrock of American jurisprudence.
Therefore, we are calling on all elected, community and spiritual leaders; churches, synagogues, fellowships, ministries, organizations and all who care about moral values, to celebrate the annual Ten Commandments Weekend by hosting local events in support of the Ten Commandments and its principles.
Finally, we proclaim that the celebration of the annual Ten Commandments Weekend shall serve as a means to heal the wounds of history through strategic and practical objectives, proactive love and obedience to the Word of God among all mankind.
By signing this document, we hereby give our commitment of support to the ideals brought forth by the Ten Commandments Commission in the establishment of the annual Ten Commandments Weekend, and to the moral standard we seek to uphold by the grace of the Almighty.
